An Evening with Watt Nicoll part of his 90 Mega Watt Challenges

Watt Nicoll turns 90 years old on 24th December 2025 – but slowing down isn’t on his radar.  Instead, he is igniting his biggest, boldest, and most selfless mission yet:  90 MegaWatt Challenges.

Over the coming year, Watt will complete multiple extraordinary challenges across NINE powerful themes , all designed to uplift, inspire, and give back.  His goal?  To raise £90,000 for up to NINE supporting Scottish charities, therefore leaving a lasting legacy of generosity and impact.

Watt Nicoll is a Scottish legend – a folk singer, storyteller, motivational speaker and mentor whose career spans music, broadcasting and personal development.  Born on 24th December 1935, Watt first gained recognition in the 1960s as a folk singer and songwriter, appearing on Grampian, Border, and STV, and later hosting Sounds of Scotland on the BBC.  

Beyond music, he became a renowned motivational speaker and mentor coaching business leaders, athletes, and performers to unlock their full potential.  A true force of nature, Watt remains unstoppable, launching 90 MegaWatt Challenges to inspire himself and others by entertaining, helping many, and raising significant funds for charity.

 

What is An Evening with Watt Nicoll?

 

As part of the incredible 90 MegaWatt Challenge, Watt will be offering an evening of music and entertainment that is guaranteed to warm the heart of every devotee of the Scottish Folk Tradition.  As we’ve already established, Watt is a legendary Scottish Folk Singer & Story Teller, releasing a host of albums under the Transatlantic label with Folk Hits including; “Plumbers and Joiners”, “Song about the Car”, “Oh Dear” and many more, this show consists of a Journey of Stories with songs along the way.

Apart from just folk music, Watt was also comedy screen writer for Norman Wisdom and wrote songs for the amazing Hamish Imlach. He won best motivation speaker in the world working with sports stars like David Beckham and Tiger Woods, all of which should ensure the evening will not pass without an anecdote or 5!!

 

The housekeeping:

 

The show running time will be around 90 minutes, doors will open from 6.30pm to ensure a prompt start.

All funds raised will support Clydesdale Community Initiatives’ vital health and inclusion programmes.

Refunds will be processed up until 7 days before the date of the event – minus EventBrite booking fee to allow for seats to be re-booked.  Due to the nature of the event and expected popularity, we cannot offer refunds for no-shows or last minute cancellations under any circumstances.
