This Mental Health Awareness Week (11th-17th May), organised by the Mental Health Foundation, the theme is “TAKE ACTION”. to support good mental health.

We asked long time CCI Volunteer, Gordon King, what being at CCI means to him.

“It’s not been an easy road. I’ve had a lot of encouragement at CCI. One day in the workshop everyone was talking and I realised that we had a lot in common. Other people had similar experiences to me, we could relate to each other. That’s when I knew how important it was to keep coming to CCI. Here, I am always Gordon King, not a label, not anything else. I can be myself.”

Gordon has been with CCI for 21 years, almost from the beginning. He is a volunteer mentor, working alongside one of our participants who benefits from extra support. Gordon became a Walking Leader with Get Walking Lanarkshire 12 years ago. He leads 3 walks every week; at Hamilton Palace Grounds, Lesmahagow and here at Lanark. You can join Gordon and our other walkers every Thursday at 11am, starting from CCI at Langloch Farm.

Gordon is also “TAKING ACTION” this Saturday by joining our Ceilidh to the Cairn fundraiser. To “TAKE ACTION” and support Gordon and CCI Scotland, please consider making a small donation at bit.ly/CTTCDonate. Thank you!

Ryan from our CCI Craft Group, popped into the Langloch Shop this afternoon with this gorgeous gift bag that he had just made.

It is now for sale in the shop along with the Craft Group's Cards, Bookmarks and Lavender Hearts 💜

Every product sale goes towards running our charity CCI Scotland, enabling us to run sessions like the Craft Group, building skills and confidence.

Thanks to Walter at Castlebank Park, Lanark for a fabulous taster session today.

Our CCI volunteers first of all enjoyed a tour of the park, learning about its history.

They then got stuck in to some plant potting, in the lovely sunshine.

A very interesting and enjoyable visit! ☀️🏵🌼🌸

Our Langloch Farm Botanics team was busy working on a special order for an external customer today.

As part of the manufacturing process for the Lavender and Calendula soap, Ryan and Lyndsey had to check the temperature of the organic soap base.

Did you know that we grow, and then harvest, the herbs that we use in our small batch soaps, right here on site? Soap bars are more environmentally friendly than liquid soaps as they don't have any plastic packaging. We make only 10 bars at a time and you will find them on sale in our Langloch Farm Shop (across the Courtyard from the Tea Room) for only £3.75 each.

Isn’t that soaper! 🫧🧼🫧🧼🫧🧼
